Early Education Center
About Us
Whether you are joining us at the beginning of the year, or part way through, we welcome you wholeheartedly. Early Education in our programs is often the first school experience for our students and this is an exciting moment as you begin your educational journey. We are happy you are joining our School Family and are excited to meet our students and help them grow, learn new skills and build foundations for a successful future.
In our program we provide Special Education support for students beginning at age 3 and we invite some typically developing peers to join us as well. We celebrate our inclusive classrooms and focus on the growth of the whole child through developmentally appropriate play.
We know how important it is to partner with families. Please reach out to us if you need anything or have any questions. Welcome to our BEEP Family!

Brandywine School District Early Education Programs serve three and four-year-old students in developmentally appropriate early childhood classrooms. Using the CKLA PreK Curriculum, Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum, and the Conscious Discipline Social Emotional Program, we provide opportunities for all students to develop their gross motor skills, fine motor skills, language skills, cognitive skills, and social/emotional skills through hands-on and engaging activities.
BSD loves our littlest learners! We know that preschool builds a firm foundation for the beginning of a child's education. We use the developmentally appropriate materials of our curriculums and plan lessons with opportunities to engage in developmentally appropriate play, ask questions, explore, engage in drama, fine and gross motor activities, and experience music and art.
Our classrooms integrate children with special needs with those not requiring special services, with all children benefiting from the many unique opportunities this offers. Families pay a reduced fee for their child to attend the program for typical learners. Families of typical learners provide their own transportation. The special needs program is funded through state agencies and transportation is provided.
Brandywine School District offers one strong preschool program at three great locations:
- Bush Early Education Center,
- Brumskill ECAP at PS duPont
- Brandywine Early Education Center at Darley Road.
All three sites offer the same great program with access to the same resources, curriculum, and materials. The location is based on where you live, which is your Feeder School.
Child Find is a federally funded program in the State of Delaware that identifies students for special education services. The BSD Child Find team screens, evaluates, and recommends specific services for preschool and school-aged children. If you wish to have your incoming preschooler evaluated, please contact Donna Barrick by email or at 302-792-3920. You can also click here for additional information about developmental screening in BSD.
